Our Philosophy

Lakeshore is an Ecumen community. Ecumen, which is based in the Twin Cities, is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and provides a variety of housing choices for people living fully after 50.

The Ecumen name comes from the word ecumenical, which in turn is derived from the Greek word for "home." Our philosophy and our promise is to create "home" for the people we serve, not a "home-like" place, but home. We are honored that you would choose an Ecumen community in which to live and we want to ensure that as a member of the Lakeshore community your living experience is everything that you want it to be.
